Celebrating 160 Years Of Success!

March 2020 is a remarkable milestone for us at Charles Bentley & Son Ltd. This year we celebrate our 160th year anniversary of manufacturing excellence.

We’ve come a long way since 1860; a business that originally manufactured chimney-sweeping brushes has grown & evolved into an innovative homeware manufacturer, renowned for a comprehensive range of premium, contemporary & affordable brush & homeware products.

Our commitment to quality has seen us grow from humble beginnings. We now employ over 137 people and manufacture in excess of two million brushes annually from our Loughborough factory, as well as stocking 1000s of home, garden, leisure & pet products. Now in our 160th year, we’re proud to be recognised as an award winning brush & homeware manufacturer.

A major part of our success is understanding changing consumer needs and quickly modifying our manufacturing accordingly. For example, switching to plastic-free is high on the agenda of our consumers, as well as retailers, and as a leading manufacturer, we led from the front and developed a new plastic-free collection in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society, featuring products made from natural, sustainable materials and offering our customers FSC certified timber.

Due to popular consumer demand we have now extended our Marine Conservation Society range, all of which can be found in high street retailers as well as on charlesbentley.com.

During our recent annual conference (Friday 6th March 2020), we celebrated our successes, discussed how we can continue to improve and recognised individuals for long-term service, leadership & making a positive difference to the Charles Bentley business. View more on LinkedIn

A special award was also presented to Charles on behalf of all of us at Charles Bentley & Son by Martin Traynor OBE. Charles continues to be an inspiration to us all, leading with an energy & vision that drives us every day. In recognition of your ongoing vision, inspiration & impact on the business, we thank you Charles.

A huge thank you to everyone at Charles Bentley for helping us to become the family business we are today. The strategies and execution plans we have has only been possible because of the team we have in place and we look forward to the next 160 years!
